SHOOTING STILL PHOTO IN VIDEO MODE - How?

The Canon 7D allows you to take a full resolution photo in video mode with a resulting 1sec "skip" in the video.

I realize the A77 doesn't have that option available. My question; what would be the sequence necessary while shooting video to take a full resolution still then continue with the video?

To clarify - would you hit the video record button to stop recording then just press the shutter button for photo then again hit the video record button? Would you have to refocus? Or what? Realistically how long would the sequence take before you could resume video recording?

I am not interested in "capturing" a low resolution frame from the recorded video, I need full resolution still shots while recording video.

Any input will be appreciated perhaps from those who have had experience doing this with other Sony cameras.
