There is one more issue that irks me but maybe doesn't bother most people. If you have more than one Tamron lens, you can't tell which lens was on the camera because the code good old Sony gives us is just "Tamron or Sony" in the A55 metadata. I had two Tamrons and gave one away to a step son with an A100 partly for this reason. So since I like the Tamron lens I still have (28-300 macro), I can't buy another if I want Lightroom to know what lenses I'm using, and I do want to know what lens I'm using.

BTW, Panasonic has a friendlier relationship with Olympus regarding metadata. I can tell my Olympus lenses apart on my Panasonic G1.
