Canon to Leica M9 Transition Advice

I am interested in transitioning to the M-9 from my 7D. I shoot mainly for travel and around town. I take several trips a year where lugging Canon gear around is a hassle. I recently went to Europe with the Oly EPL2 and traveling with the light stuff was great.

My thought is to stay with m4/3 for the times I need zoom lenses and video and go with the Leica for the things I am most interested in. The image quality just seems better to me in looking at Leica images. I grew up with manual film cameras so am used to that though not specifically rangefinders (though my grandfather had a Leica rangefinder I shot on occasion back in the 70's).

My concern is that I will miss the flexibility of the Canon system.

If anyone who has made such a transition I'd be interested in your experiences in general, and in particular with:

1. No autofocus;
2. No zoom;
3. No built in flash;
4. Slower fps and buffer clearing:
5. No telephoto.

Anything else you found in your transition.
