I love the x100's design and from what I have read it's image quality is absolutely top notch, unfortunately not having the availability of any other focal lengths kills it for me as a light weight travel solution.

The great IQ does very little for me when I dont have the right focal length to get the shot I want

I couldn't disagree with you more. I use my X100 almost exclusively with the rear lcd to frame my images. It's all about the IQ in a ridiculously compact body that you can carry anywhere. The cameras you mention do not hold a candle to the IQ of the X100.
