Maybe not 1-2 year but 5-10 years it might be. But sub $1500 or even sub $1000 is possible for a bare bones manual FF camera with reduced features, no AF, no auto exposure, no metering (image can be viewed immidiately so this won't be a problem), no image processor (Raw only), as long as the camera has manual exposure and it can take pictures, its good enough, no need a lot of bells and wistles, just like the old plain K1000. But considering that US dollars value is going down, it might not be possible to make it lower than $1000.
