The Contax G2's autofocus system used a dual window rangefinder, but alignment was done electronically, rather than visually. Was it a rangefinder camera?

The G2 was an "autofocus rangefinder". Since the lens was focused by the camera, the only way to get manual focus was turning a knob placed on the body until the camera confirmed focus by aligning two marks in the viewfinder. Manual focus on the G2 was a useless process, much worse than X100's manual focus.

Taking aside the rangefinder issue, the X100 closer to the G2 than to a Leica.
