... not to sound dumb but I spent a lot of years with all manual cameras. It was several years after the invention of auto focus before I trusted it.

So, if I select S: The camera can't control the aperture because it can't close down the lens. So its only variable to play with is ISO to make the light meter work.

If I select A: It doesn't matter what I set the aperture in the camera because the camera can't control the lens. The camera can manipulate the shutter speed and ISO to allow the correct amount of light in.

Is this correct?
