Lens and Other Advice For First Time Safari in Kenya

Hi,

Will be going, for the first time, on a safari to the Masai Mara this August. Need advice from the experts here on what to take. For the camera I have a 5d mk 2 and for lens I have 17-40 F4 L, 24 - 70 F2.8 L and 70 - 200 F2.8 L IS mk 2. Should I take them all or perhaps the 24 - 70 + 70 - 200 only? Weight is a concern as the domestic flight have a very strict weight limit.

Also, I can get my hand on a used Canon 2x mk 2 extender or do you guys advise that I go for a new 2x mk 3? Some people on a travel forum suggest that this is a must have on a Safari, not an extender but lens around 400 mm. Have not use an extender before but it sure beat having to buy another lens!

Appreciate any other comment or advice!
