Right. That's what my interpretation of it is as well, but I wanted to know what he defines as "blackout time". How long time it is stuck up there depends on the shutter speed.

A related issue would be mirror dampening, and I'm also wondering how well that works on the D7000 compared to my D300 (which is pretty darned good).

Right. I think the weight of the camera and the full metal body helps a lot.
