maybe a couple people had genuine oil spots?

maybe these were home made, ie people put oil on their lenses' contacts? or maybe some people "clean" their sensors often, not using the best and safest method of blowing air, and cause problems? Wet cleaning a sensor is a VERY difficult and risky process - most people should avoid this at all costs.

I'm just trying to sort between reality and myth - and so far on these forums I've seen myths dominate so much, that I've become more skeptical than I'd ideally want to be.

I wish you could be more respectful of those of us who do actually have the problem... that way you wouldn't be annoying those going thru actual issues.

I've explained my case to you, if you've actually read my posts. What more proof do you need?

Anything else, you can please call Nikon on my behalf. Maybe they will tell you something more than they told me.
