No low light checking yet . Believe it or not , I have only taken - maybe 20 shots with it and 7 or 8 were for MA adjusting - it did not need any but i went -15 , -10 , -5 , 0 , +5 etc . That was in drive way with sun overhead .
That was also before I found out how to use live view .

I have found most specs , reviews and charts are in a controlled area . Not in real world . If you shoot in a lab - great go outside and things chance fast . I don't think they even mount the lens on a camera at canon . I know they did not test on mine .

Do they put ND's on lens , turn off some lights - they probably just have a formula they use to figure out .

Something else you will find is 2.8 is 2.8 , but there is a difference between 2.8 on a FF and crop . The farther away the lens is , the less light . Try it with a flash light - poke a hole in a piece of paper , hold in front , now move out - less / weaker light thru hole .
