No, you just need a L39 to NEX adapter - which is usually significantly cheaper than a the M to NEX and no need for the L39 to M at all. I have two of them
Go for it! Image quality and handling are both first rate. In fact, I like the Color Skopar, in every regard, much better than my Nokton 40/1.4 Classic.
I don't have one now (I have a Leitz Summaron 35/3.5 instead) but I used the Skopar a lot on film. Lovely lens - and generally available at bargain prices compared with other rangefinder 35's.
