Intriguing new development in motherboards....

Some of you may have already heard of this, but last night I stumbled upon a motherboard that Gigabyte is making available late this month or in July. It has an on-board 20Gb SSD to be used for SSD caching via Intel Smart Response Technology. The model is GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD. You can keep your OS on a regular hard drive, but the SSD caching gives about 4x the speed you would normally have.

Gigabyte hasn't released the price for this board yet, but I find it very interesting for any of us that feel more comfortable with the platter hard drives. Those who already use SSD's for their OS may not be all that impressed.

Gigabyte provides a great utility to utilize the technology without having to re-install the OS.

I also read that they may offer larger capacity SSD's on their future models.

Any thoughts?
