Another reason to see the layout...

If you have access to the layout you will also have an idea of the direction that the subject should be facing(assuming they dont change the design later). Graphic artists often flip images to fit the layout and miss things in the photo that are give-aways.

Granted this is not the end of the world and most people wont notice, but it can be very distracting when you see it. I personally think it is unprofessional and shows a lack of attention to detail. Nothing wrong with flipping but you have to make sure it's not obvious.

I've also seen this in major galleries on very expensive photos. One of the common give-aways is the moon. We all know what it's supposed to look like.
