Focus ring Re: 35 f/2 D

The only issue I have with that lens is the focus ring, no damping at all. It's really loose, likely to accomodate the action of the AF engine inside the camera. So, for manual focus, it's as good as the newer or older lenses (before AF).

I have the 24 2.8, 50 1.8 and 85mm 1.8 D lenses and I am thinking of picking up the 35 2.0....I like the actual aperture rings.... they work on my film bodies....but I just like moving the ring by feel....

I am not "lens obsessive" either ..... I think that 35 2.0 would be great on the D700 which seems to be a good body for average glass....
