Re: I'm willing to be crucified....

If you look, you will find that others on this forum claim that NX2 gives them better color than Photoshop. My impression, from some conversion challenges a while back, is that no one can produce images from one converter that someone with reasonable skills couldn't reproduce in another. So, I wouldn't spend the price of Photoshop just because some here think it works better for them.

Personally, I like using Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 with the ColorChecker Passport generated profiles. I have used Photoshop since version 3.0 and love it for other features beyond Camera Profiles. I tried NX2 in trial mode, but didn't like the UI, nor the sluggishness. Actually, I've never liked anything I've tried from NIK Software, but some people do (I haven't tried their Silver Efex Pro).

I also like Aperture 3, but color profiling has to be done manually.

My feathers don't get ruffled so much by trolls. I give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he had problems that he couldn't solve by himself. It appears he found something to fix it but of course he is welcome back and I look forward to the helpful responses if and when he does come back.

One thing I might have learned from this thread is that I might have to get hold of photoshop, since it appears some NX2 users are not having an easy time with skin tones and then they get jumped on by photoshop users who insist that it is almost a one click fix. That alone might be worth the price of admission to the photoshop club.

I think it would be a mistake to base any recommendation on what the OP has said. Several of his comments indicate he is either very confused, ignorant, or making stuff up for a troll.
