Apprehensive about Olympus Canada...

During my daughter's recent wedding, my friend damaged my FL50R, luckily after shooting many terrific pictures. (Those interested can see them on the main page of my Zenfolio site

My old FL36 also completely refused to work. In checking where to send both, I was very disappointed to find that less than a year after touting the opening of a supposed Canadian Service Centre, they have given up all pretense of even front-ending Canadian repairs, and have once again relegated their support of their Canadian customers to a third party.

I was not impressed with the service of my E-3 by the third party they front-ended for when I sent that in and am apprehensive about what a new, perhaps lower-bidding subcontractor will do with my flashes.

Where, oh where is Olympus heading?

Ironically, the pictures I'm getting, especially with my E-5, but also with the E-620 with my first SHG lenses, 150f2 and 7-14, are fantastic. But they. too. may need service sometime!

Photography is a small voice, at best, but sometimes one photograph, or a group of them, can lure our sense of awareness.
