7Hi Remote in UK

Does any one know of a place that stocks the remote cord for the Minolta 7HI in the UK?

You can get the Minolta onen just about anywhere. I think it's the RC1000. It' the standard cable that also does the Dynax range so it's very easy to come by. Also, Jessops do one for 1/2 the price which is what I've got. It does a very satisfactory job when used in MF, but not sure about the AF as I never use it on a tripod. I seem to remember someone once said it caused problems.

Hi,

Yes, it's the RC-1000.

Attention! This is available in two versions: RC-1000S and RC-1000L.

RC-1000S has a short cable (50cm / 1.6ft) which is (on my opinion) too short. The RC-1000L has a long cable (5m / 16ft) which is a bit long, but I'm sure you will need the extra length sooner or later. Until then just strap a few meters together.

Before others say you can build the cable from a CD-ROM audio cable please note: The RC-1000 has excellent quality. It comes with a rubber-like cable and the shutter release has a soft spring for half press and a hard click-point for full release. You can also lock the release for bulb exposures. It also has an attached cable-binder. You could never build anything that comes near this if you take material and time into account, even if you would find the appropriate switch with two switch-points.

I received mine on friday and had to use it on sunday. Perfect timing.

Aces Cameras sell the short one (50cm or 20") for £29 and the long one (5m or 16'+) for £39. P&P is £3.50 for "recorded delivery" or £7 for "2 day courier".

Jessops list at £39.99 and £49.99 respectively (£11 more each) so Ace's price seem pretty fair by comparison, also Jessops don't appear to "stock" the item, but rather order on request.

Hi

I have just bought a Minolta RC1000s for my 7i. I paid £15.00 for it on http://www.eBay.co.uk . Cords marked with an L at the end are 5m long and with an S are 0.5m long.
