Questions about Eye-One Spectrophotometer

I've was fortunate enough to purchase a new-in-box Eye-One Photo for a decent price. This was something I'd been searching for because I wanted to take this step up for a color managed print workflow. While NIB, the Photo is well over 1 year old. So one of the things I wanted to ask was - should I get the spectro recertified by X-Rite? How much drift occurs in these things?

Secondly, given the age I'm guessing the unit is either Rev B or C. Can an upgrade to a current revision be done by the end user? If not, is it worth (assuming still offered by X-Rite) getting it upgraded to the latest revision? I know there was a big speed increase when it went to Rev B, but I don't know what (if any) further improvements occurred with the newer revs.

Thanks for the help.
