HX100V one week in use

For me, it is the best bridge-camera, I ever owned, and there were a lot of: S6500fd, FZ20, FZ38, FZ45, FZ100, HS10, SX20, SX30.

+ excellent IQ, best I've ever seen from a compact camera in this zoom-range
+ very fast AF
+ the lens: sharpness, contrast, colors are excellent
+ very good in-camera processing (no distortion, nearly no CA)
+ very useful zoom range
+ very short pre-focus lag (see image with the ball below)
+ good shot-to-shot time
+ very good high ISO performance
+ very useful 10fps shooting
+ some useful scene-modes: HDR, handheld twilight
+ very good colors
+ superb video-mode, very smooth an very sharp
+ GPS works perfectly an with fast location

_ slow start-up time
_ no RAW
_ limited bokeh (only at long focal lenghts)
_ no manual controls in movie-mode
_ sometimes slow menus
_ some IQ-issues with foliage and viewing at 100%
_ no 24mm (but may be if it has 24mm, the IQ would drop)

Conclusion: I love this camera. IQ-wise and viewed at 100%, a DSLR may be better in some situation. But this camera is more versatile and definately more fun.

By the way: I've never noticed so much discussion about the availability of a camera, like we see with the HX100V...
