Amazon: bad experience

Amazon: bad experience

I bought a Nikon lens from Amazon UK. I received the dispatch e-mail and my credit card was charged on the same day. The estimated delivery was within a few days. I waited and waited. The delivery deadline passed and I contacted the seller. They replied that the lens was not in stock. They had a few in stock when I bought it and then the price increased. It smells like a scam to me.

Amazon now says that I have to cancel the previous order and make a new one, hence paying the higher price.

Amazon doesn't assume any responsibility at all.

Have you had a similar experience with Amazon?
