Shallow DOF in bright light HELP

Hi,

I have a question regarding shallow depth of field in bright light with fill for portraits.

Has anyone used ND filters and if so do they affect overall color and skin tones.

Another way to go is to buy an old Kodak SLR it could drop the ISO down to 6.

Last way is to get a Nikon D1X and do some high speed flash sync.

Any experiences input or samples would greatly appreciated.

I will be shooting portraits outside with a studio light and need the shallow depth of field.

Many thanks!

Mats
