Re: Nikon D4 - & upcoming Lenses

Hi Michael. I haven't read all the posts so forgive me if I have replicated someone else's.

The D3 and D3s are both brilliant cameras. The 24-70 and 70-200 (VR11) are both brilliant lenses. If you were able to afford to buy these items now you would not be disappointed, even for another 4 or 8 years even! There may be a delay on the D4 due to earth quakes, but who really knows what Nikon get up to behind their shroud of silence?

I am sure the D4 and the D4X will be great cameras and more than likely include full hd video including manual exposure. I am interested in seeing what Nikon have in-store for us, but may well pass as my D3 is just too good to retire it. I have owned it from first release and it has earned its cost price over and over again and will continue to do so.
I hope this is off some assistance.

So the D4 is supposed to be released midyear - im waiting to upgrade instead of getting a D3s - I currently have no FX format lenses & was thinking of a 24-70 2.8 & 70-200 2.8 setup..

Id like to get the lenses now, but my question is should i wait to purchase these lenses with the camera, albeit a better deal - or maybe there are newer model lenses coming out or upgrades coming to current ones after D4 release or soon. trying to figure out the best path.. any advice suggestions?

thanks in advance! -Alex
