HX9v is sold out again on Amazon. Why is this camera so hot?

I mean, it's outselling its competitor, the SX230, which is said to be on par if not better than the HX9v. Amazon just can't seem to keep enough quantity on hand when new inventory becomes available. At one point they had like 17 in stock and within 24 hours, the camera sold out. Even the local BB stores in San Diego have very limited quantity available (I happened to buy the last one at one store).

Maybe because the Hx9v is made in Japan. And there has been an earthquake/tsunami which stopped the cameraproduction.

Be happy, that you can get the hx9v..... here i Europe it is almost impossible to get find the camera.

the sony-online-store in Great Britain says they have in store, but all other sony-online-stores in rest of Europe can not get it before mid-june (according to SonyNordic-facebook-support-site).
