D7000: Pitcher Captured Saddam Hussein - a Panorama
This panorama [ http://gigapan.org/gigapans/76593/ ] captures Eric Maddox throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of the college baseball game between Rice University and Stephen F. Austin.
Staff Sgt. Eric Maddox is famous for the fact that he was instrumental in tracking down and capturing Saddam Hussein who as we remember was hiding in a hole under a trap door at the back of a farm in Tikrit, Iraq in 2003. This incredible story can be read via this link: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,466028,00.html
Also pictured in this epic panorama are the two teams, Rice Owls and the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, and a U.S. Marine Color Guard.
This panorama was taken with a Nikon D7000 camera and the 18-105mm 3.5-5.3G ED lens and is comprised of 13 stitched photos, stitched with the GigaPan Stitcher software.
Thanks to the GigaPan Stitcher software, seeing it as a curved panorama on a curved surface via the "View in Google Earth 4.2 " link can be most memorable.
