yes the i did have the Olympus, but dont miss it, the HX100V is one of the best cameras i have had in 20 years, i have taken over 4000 images the carl zeiss has just blown me away IQ A1.

I was wanting to try the HX100v when I could get one, but if I can't was also thinking of the Olympus Epl2 and Pana 100-300mm lens for birding. What can you tell me from your experience with both. Thanks.

Both good, but for all round, and zoom i would not hesitate in the HX100V, no lens change no dust on sensor to worry about, 99% keepers, for me it has been a long time coming but i really rate the HX100V as excellent, see my pbase site regards Alan.
