Re: EA-18G Growlers with D3 and 500VR

I'll chime in that these are outstanding photos.

Regarding the 500VR with the 1.4...I can vouch that there is minimal loss in detail wide open on my D700. After a week of bird photography in Fl last month I found I had to check the EXIF to see if the 1.4 was on. I couldn't tell on a 13*19 print. I think you will be pleased with the combo as long as you use proper long lens technique:

Hi Glenn! Amazing pictures of very high quality! Thank You for sharing them! Could You please answer to me some questions about the 500VR... I´ve recently got the D3s and I love this camera. My longest lens is the 300VR and the picture quality even with the 1,4 converter is very goo wide open too. 500 lens I only have to my Canon and it is a fantastic lens wide open with or without 1,4 converter. Because of my D3s I´m contemplating to get the 500VR too... How is the picture quality wide open with and without 1,4 converter? Do You have any samples or experience with it. I would need this lens for wildlife and tennis photography... I need many times to use it wide open this is why my question... Have a nice day! Best regards; Laci
