how little can you show ?

I think we have a winner. To me there is no way to get less on an image ... and still show something.

I'd guess it's a spoon.
Thank you for your kind words. Its the rim of a mug in natural daylight, in full colour.

Very nice color composition.
A fish ?
My thought exactly...a fish eye. Never would have guess a mug rim.
Correct! (Sorry for the slow response time.)

Just a fish - his gill area. That black spot is part of his scales.

Here is the same fella - different shot.

He was promptly returned back home moments after I snapped these shots. Of course, my 6 year old daughter and I continued to catch & release several more of his cousins the rest of the afternoon...!

That is a tire... Maybe a P235-75R-15 ? :)

In any event a tire...!
Yessiree! It was on a street rod (T-bucket); I didn't note the size or brand. I was testing out my Nikon 16-85 VR's suitability as an all-purpose car show lens. I think it will serve the purpose.

I typically cover car shows with at least 3 lenses (12-24, 90 macro and, usually, the 18-70). Now I think I can do it with one when need be.

I used to carry even more, heavier gear until I learned that you don't need fast glass to shoot cars.

This image contains way more information than needed. Are crops allowed?

If so, then mission accomplished with the last image. Just a hint of color is all that is needed to distinguish this attractive subject.
