Last Saturday 'cabin fever' got the best of me and I gathered up my E-5 and a few lenses for a photo safari at Zilker Botanical Gardens here in Austin. In hind sight, I wish I had taken my 70-300mm with me instead of my 50-200mm as I could have gotten some much closer images of the dragonfies in the ponds.

Below are a few of the shots I got -- mostly using my EC-14 with either the 50-200mm or with my 50mm macro.

God Bless,
Greg

I have no idea what kind of bug this is!

That is a most excellent series. I have been trying to get to the gardens forever and never seem to find the right time. I think your 50-200 did just fine. And I have a question for you. I recently mentioned in a thread that I was planning to get the Sigma 105 for macro photography. One responder told me he thought the 70mm or 150mm was better lenses. What is your opinion of those two lenses compared to the 105mm?

Nice photos...I don't know what kind of bug that is in the first photo, but it looks like it could sting. Your plant arrangements with the designs are nice to look at.

wonderfull pictures congrats

Very lovely set! I especially like the insects. Maybe a few could use a light hand with an unsharp mask? The last BW one is great, and the level of sharpness suits the subject, but I dont think you need to worry about keeping insects looking portrait-style flattering. Make those little buggers pop!
