Thanks for your comments. I sure appreciate them. The manual focus is easy to use, though it is glacially slow when you use the 4-way switch. There may be a faster way of moving the focus that I am unaware of. I was surprised how easy it is to use the Panorama mode, and how well the photos come out. (Though they were tilted due to my positioning the camera and no problem with the camera itself.) The one trick I had to learn was not to press the shutter release too soon. If I waited for the camera to let me know when it was ready, the panoramas photographed without a hitch.
