NEX-7 for $1,300?

seems a better deal than the Fuji FX100

the Fuji has a comparable list price and offers a same size sensor (though possibly not THE good Sony sensor), and a fixed lens vs interchangeable. Sure the Fuji is cute and has nice manual controls.

But clearly none of these, in a maturing (vs novelty) market, should hope to sell for more than $1'000 at most with a kit lens (or the buit-in lens for the Fuji). And once the market for these has matured fully they won't be selling for much more than $500 or so.

Which, yes, means that there won't be any room left for compact cameras with tiny sensors above around $100 or so (barring some niches such as superzooms).

Which, yes, means most people will be photographing using their phones / data devices.
