Let's drop 'single lens'

Why clutter an acronym with two unnecessary letters? Why state the obvious? How many cameras are made these days with two or more lenses attached at the same time? And if there is such an exception, let its own acronym indicate this peculiarity.

I believe that the phrase 'single lens' was coined to distinguish such cameras (e.g. Pentax, Nikon) from their popular twin-lens counterparts, that is, those that had two lenses - one for viewing and one for taking pictures (e.g. Rolleiflex, Mamiya). Although IMO it is no longer necessary to refer to this distinction, it is still necessary to indicate whether a camera is an FL (fixed lens) or an IL (interchangeable lens) one.
