Some love for the 70-300
Thanks all for looking and the kind words - John, the pigeon just might be a dove (which is a pigeon ?). The one in the shot was not all that relaxed because I was between it and its nest. In the earlier shot the bird was adding to its nest and it took off right after I got the shots. Its mate was on the nest, I found the nest right after, and got a number of shots of the head of the mate, with the eye staring back.
The twigs were in the way but the bird was deliberately backing out of a direct line of sight... I find birds don't much like a long black lens pointed at them, they're even more skittish about the 50-200
