One thing to consider is the effect increased prices will have on supply. Let's say prices for Nikon products double b/c of the limited supply. Once supply normalizes, prices will eventually return to normal.

A great example would be iPads. Every time they release a new one, the prices spike until there is adequate supply in the system to meet demand. The supply inevitably increases became demand fuels profits.
