Fisheye for E-PL2

Hi,

Im the new owner of an E-PL2 and was thinking about buying a fish eye lens.

Since the Olympus store is out of stock, I was considering some alternatives.

Are the ones on this site compatible with the lens? Which one is the best? Whats does the 0.3x and 0.25x mean?

Thanks,
I think that you'll find that the ones you seem to be looking at , are not actual lenses in themselves.. similar that is to the lens you have now on your camera. A lot of cameras will take lens adaptors...including some of these Fish-eye type..that are scrwed into the front threads of the existing lens and thereby adjusts it's "view".

As a user of the E-P1 and also the GF-1 I don't think there is anything of this nature (the ones you are looking at) that actually work with Pana/Oly M4/3 lenses. You need to have such as the (rather expensive !!!) 8mm lens .. check it out via Google .. but take a deep breath first !!!

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

Im looking for one just like the ones on the Olympus website. just converter lenses. Im only going to be using this for fun so was simply looking for a cheap alternative to get the same effect.
Just for fun, here's two shots I took with the Olympus 8mm FE on my E-PL1 a few weeks ago. In addition to the effect it is also a very sharp lens, something conversion lenses screwed onto the front of the kit lens would have a hard time emmulating.

The "x" factors are multipliers - your original focal length times the "x" factor of the accessory lens yields the "effective" focal length of the two lens used together.
