Fuji has apparently instructed its tech support staff to say "overheating isn't an issue, just turn the camera off for a minute at most and then turn it back on". This doesn't bode well for anyone expecting a firmware fix. If there is one though, it may have consequences such as reduced operating speed.

I could not accept the idea that I needed to let my camera cool down (for even a minute) in order to get another couple shots before it shuts down again. This overheating issue is a catastrophic failure of the camera and totally unacceptable even if support staff are trained to call it 'not an issue'.
