Showing the flag with a flying visit

Spotted through the perimeter fence on the north side of Bermuda's L.F. Wade International Airport yesterday evening & captured with an E-5 / ZD 12-60 + EC1.4. The teleconverter gives the 12-60 extra reach and I really like the combo for what it can do -

This looks to be a flight of 2 RAF Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, with their VC-10 tanker aircraft. The English Telegraph newspaper reported yesterday that a pair of Typhoons had just made history with the type's first-ever combat mission, flying out of southern Italy, to patrol the UN imposed no-fly zone over Libya.

I speculate that the fighters seen here are from a RAF squadron (of 4) based in the Falkland Islands, and are in transit to Europe because of the Libya conflict - the aircraft markings (see fuselage of closer of the two) appear to differ from Typhoon squadrons based in England. If these jets here have indeed come up from the Falklands that would mean a very, very long trip for the pilots -

Cheers,
Namur
