3 GB CF-card: filesystem issues ? Locked

FAT16 Supports 4GB Partition!

If your going to tell people there wrong you should make sure your right!

Win9x implementation of Fat16 only support 2GB partition size, this is because they have hard coded a the cluster size. Under WinNT, 2000 and XP the cluster size is changable and a 4GB Fat16 partition can be created. I discovered this by accident a number of years ago when I migrated some FAT16 drives from NT to a Win95 machine.. I could not figure out how it had a 4GB partition.. Anyways it is very well possible that FAT16 under a Camera may support up to 4GB partitions until we get media that big though no body will know!
