NX 20mm f2.8 lens brief review

Light weight, compact size, 43mm filter. Decent price, AUD299 at Teds Sydney, Australia. Focus speed and accuracy equivalent to 30mm pancake. Construction good, metal mount. Resolution good but not significantly better than 20-50 or 18-55mm zooms at 20mm. No OIS. Strong barrel distortion, corrected in camera with JPG's not RAW. Low to moderate CA. Strong tendency to veiling flare with sun just outside frame. Decent bokeh. iFunction works as advertised but I found making adjustments this way is less convenient than using the buttons and dials on the rear of the camera. This feature needs further development I think.

Summary: Best feature, compact size. Worst features, distortion, veiling flare. No correction profile yet on ACR.

Comparison: The 30mm f2 is a better lens in every respect. Both kit zooms deliver similar resolution at 20mm with less distortion and flare.
