Re: Fujifilm faces shortage of X100 large-sensor camera
Not surprised at the popularity of retro-looking range finder packing latest digital image technology. From esthetic point of view, having a viewfinder is a key. So many others who attempted retro-range finder style omitted 2 important components that this Fujifilm model incorporates: 1) viewfinder, whether it be optical or electronic, 2) latest technology incorporating APS-C sensor. Some Leica models sport APS-C sensor but omit the viewfinder. Canon's popular G-12 model has a viewfinder but not the sensor as well as Nikon's P7000. Even Olympus Pen and Panasonics G models would look cooler if they had built-in viewfinder.
I think other manufacturers will take notice of this Fujifilm model's popularity and follow suit, hopefully. I love this camera but the price is little too steep for my taste for what it does.
