using RAW makes a LOT sense for small sensor cameras!

RAW vs. JPEG for GXR A12/50mm (picture)

I think Ricoh's JPEG engine does a fine job in denoising without loss of detail. This is a 100% crop from a picture I posted in another thread.

The DNG (left) was developed in UFRaw without any denoising and no sharpening was used either.
The JPEG (right) is straight from the camera at its default settings.
