Could I ask for suggestions on brands. Zeiss comes with a price over Nikon, but from the sample photos, it has a edge on quality. As you only get one chance at a perfect shot, I am willing to pay the extra. But would like to hear if anyone has pros/cons.

After a pleasant tour of your gallery, I'll cast my vote for a 35mm lens. The Nikon 35/1.8g is fast and versatile. It has two advantages over the Zeiss... it's autofocus and it's only $200. Its image quality is well regarded, but the Zeiss 35/2 wins on image quality and build quality.
