E-5 serial number distribution

My E-5 is serial number:
AB3501144 -- 35

So, it is clearly not just the final digits that change.

Possibly the 0 and 3 are batch numbers?

Just a (wild?) thought based on info in this thread:

Geographical distribution identifier in serial number?
All numbers starting AB0 seem to come from North America
number AB1..... comes from Europe (see DonParrots' post)
number AB3..... comes from New Zealand/Australia

like to see more full S/N.
