Many thanks to all of you responded for your valuable feedback!

As was mentioned, it is indeed better to "Quit playing Russian Roulette...!" now rather than pay the price of camera's life later -- my 3rd S95 goes back to Amazon, too. Finger crossed that a replacement will be finally fault-free...

Overall, I am just having a sad feeling that magic words "Made in Japan" are now longer trustworthy, even for flagship products such as S95. It's a pity but seems to be true nowadays...
Canon, where is your QC, so respected in the past???
