Camera strap for Hiking with a D700?

Does anybody have a recommendation for a camera strap for hiking? I'm currently using the original D700 neck strap & not only is it uncomfortable, it tends to let the camera just swing all over the place when hiking over rough terrain.

I've been looking at the Blackrapid RS-7 sling style, but I think that will just let it swing around on my hip!!!

I guess I'm looking for a different style or type of camera carrying device?

I usually hike with my 85mm f/1.8

Thanks for any recommendations!

Also, on a side note, does anybody out there believe like I do that they put the camera strap mounts in the wrong place? I wish the were half way down the body, near the back side so that the camera would always face down no matter what size lens you had on there! Or am i just crazy?
