Wide format newbie - Z3100 questions

I just scored a good deal on a 24" HP Z3100 that's a few years old but with very low use. Replaced all inks. I have upgraded the firmware to the latest 7.0.0.8. All cartridges are unexpired except matte black, but it's a full cartridge so I see no need to replace. I have successfully calibrated and profiled, so I'm sure all the inks are OK. I'm running on a Windows based system (Windows 7 64). I use primarily Lightroom 3 and CS5.

I have 2 major questions:

1. COLOR MANAGEMENT: After a few tries I finally got a print with accurate colors via LR. However, I'm having a rough time getting anything like accurate colors via PS. I'm pretty sure I'm setting up color management correctly, as follows:
Color management - PS manages colors
Printer profile - set to loaded paper
Rendering Intent - relative colorimetric
Black point compensation - check

Next I click on "print settings" - and make the following selections under the tabs:
Paper/quality> paper/type - select loaded paper

QUESTION - since I've already selected the loaded paper under printer profile, above, is this setting up a conflict? I can't find a way to not answer this prompt.
Color - "print in color" and "application managed colors" checked.

Then I click print. The print preview shows just fine. [What's the box in the lower right corner? Is that a gamut warning or something? Looks funny]. However, the print is garbage. Colors are way off. Any info on what's wrong would be helpful and appreciated.

2. SCALING? I tried a print at 24" x 30" printing through LR. Colors basically OK, but it's anything but sharp and crisp. Very fuzzy, kinda like an old photo blow up. I know I printed via LR without any processing in CS5. Is there something I should be doing in CS5 to assist here. Like what I think may be called up-resing? I know I've seen sharp and crisp large prints and that's what I want to get. Help!
