Really excellent photographs !

While these are very striking, in general I would prefer a little
more fill in light so that you don't have regions of the face going
entirely dark.

Also, if the dog looks in a direction opposite the main light
it tends to minimize this.

An old trick is to toss a set of keys or a ball to where you
want the dog to look, you have a moment to get yourself
set to take the exposure. Of course your dog may go after
the keys and tip your lights over....
