Is Gimp good enough?

I see that there are a number of other Linux users here. That's brilliant. I'd like to ask for your opinions.

I'm trying to get to grips with RAW image editing. I processed my first batch of RAW images using Rawtherapee, and that worked out okay.

But I see that I can turn on 32bit colour depth in Gimp. And I've opened RAW images in Gimp using the Rawphoto plugin.

Is anyone out there just using Gimp to process RAW images? If not, why not?

I'm keen to settle on a workflow before I shoot too much more... err, before I shoot too much more.

(Please say if you think I'm posting to the wrong Forum, and I'll move the discussion elsewhere. It's just that RAW processing is a "pro" subject.)
