Samsung gets it, wish Olympus would get a clue

Pre-CES 2011: Samsung has introduced the SH100 Wi-Fi enabled digital camera allowing users connect to wireless networks for sharing images and videos. The camera also allows users to pair up with compatible Android smartphones to enable geo-tagging, control the camera remotely or preview data.

Rumor is Oly will have a bluetooth Module on the EPL2 to transfer photos, Samsung has more of a clue.

  • WiFi

  • Use phone as a remote preview device

  • Use phone as a remore control for the camera

  • Use Phone for geotagging

I believe these are much more usefull features than what we will see from Olympus. I believe Olympus can do better, I just don't know they know how.

A big difference is that Samsung is a consumer electronics company and Olympus is a medical device company that also does cameras.
