Protecting the NEX screen?

Protecting the NEX screen?

This picture makes me think I should add some sort of protection to my NEX screen:

I gather there are two options (at least from Sony):

1) A film that directly adheres to the screen

2) A bit of plastic that clips on over the screen (though this seems to not be available in the US)

As I see it, wouldn't the film rub off just the way the coating in the picture seems to have rubbed off? (If not, then why wouldn't Sony just apply that film on all cameras?) Can you peel off the extra film without ruining the coating on the screen beneath?

otoh, the plastic clip seems bulkier (and harder to find), but I don't quite understand the film -- so the clip seems a bit more sensible, no?

Would greatly appreciate any suggestions on this!
